Widehoe Haugh, Waren Mill, Northumberland, is owned by Trevor Crowe and Joy de Ruiter. Previously, after having been primarily used for horticulture, the land had fallen into disuse over the years, before we acquired it and restored it as a haven for wildlife and our rare breed livestock.

After what seemed like several lifetimes of business and international travel, the moment we saw it we fell in love with it and knew that this was to be our future.

The “9-acre wood” that can be accessed directly from Orchard Cottage, has been planted with 3000 broadleaf trees and various pine trees. This is a haven for roe deer and many other forms of wildlife and is home to our friendly Kune Kune pigs and Real free-range hens. The wood is also the home of genuine four-leaf clovers (which you are welcome to try and find if the pigs don't get there first!)

Our other fields are home to our pedigree flock of Southdown sheep.

During their stay guests are also welcome to muck-in and help out with any of the farm chores.

The area is very much undiscovered and therefore remains un-spoilt. Locally it is known as the Secret Kingdom and we are certain that once you visit you will want to return, time and time again, to enjoy its splendour and tranquillity.

We look forward to extending you a very warm Northumbrian and Dutch welcome!
